Oh the hypocrisy of it all. Religious leaders of many stripes are attacking the actions of two churches. The crime is handing out biased voter education materials supporting none other than Blackwell.

The request has been made to the IRS that an investigation be made concerning the tax-exempt status be made of the two churches in question.

A group of religious leaders have accused several evangelical churches of improperly promoting an Ohio candidate for governor and want the Internal Revenue Service to investigate.

The response has been pointed.

???It???s sad to see the religious left and the secular left forge an unholy alliance against people of faith,??? Johnson said. ???We have invited people to pray, to serve and to engage, and candidly, we will not be intimidated or bullied by these folks.???

The ministers counter the claims of wrong-doing saying that the laws of man and God were obeyed. The Columbus Dispatch also reveals that one of the signers was Eric Williams, minister of the North Congregational United Church of Christ. It might be enough to know that the United Church of Christ is arguably the most liberal of congregations in America, but there is more. The Eric Williams also urged the defeat of state issue 1 which was the amendment to ban gay marriage in Ohio.

I am sure that we could go through the list and find reasonable cause to file a complaint to the IRS. Not that there was a reason but that they had motive enough without cause to file the complaints.

The hypocrisy is best seen in liberals’ most recent example given gloriously by Hillary Clinton (watch the video or here). In a church there was not only politicians but attacks on the President and all Republicans. I wonder if there will be such suits placed against Al Sharpton’s MLK Church?

Don’t hold your breath for too long. Though you might because the whole thing stinks just a little.
