We have a border problem! We have an illegal immigration problem and it grows worse daily. There will eventually be clashes between Americans the the Mexican invasion forces sent to us from the south. No one wants to deport them. No one wants to give them amnesty and reward their criminal behavior. So I propose the final solution. Annex Mexico and finally solved the border problem.

I actually thought this might be a new idea but discovered other creative minds at work on this from Townhall.

Of course there is one other option. We could annex Mexico, making it our 51st state. With all its oil and natural resources, I???m sure we could make it financially feasible. At the very least, I think we???d all feel a lot better about having Americans, not foreigners, on our dole.

If you think about it, it really is the ultimate solution. We free another repressive regime that with all of its oil resources has a population enslaved by poverty. They have corruption that makes Chicago Mayor Daley and DC Mayor “Mr. Drugs” look like boy scouts. Isn’t it time that we spread Democracy (meaningful democracy) and opportunity south of us.

In fact we could just consider it getting an unfinished job done. Wikepedia has part of the history.

The war ended at the Battle of San Jacinto (about 20 miles east of modern day Houston) where General Sam Houston led the Texas army to victory over a portion of the Mexican Army under Santa Anna, who was captured shortly after the battle. The conclusion of the war resulted in the creation of the Republic of Texas. The Republic was never recognized by the government of Mexico, and it teetered between collapse and invasion from Mexico. Texas was annexed by the United States of America in 1845, and it was not until the Mexican-American War of 1846 to 1848 that the “Texan Question” would finally be resolved.

It never was resolved. There are Mexicans that still feel many parts of the United States is still rightfully theirs. That is in part the reason they don’t see the immigrants as here illegally. So why not stop them from physically squatting on the land and reclaiming it… let us annex Mexico and make it the 51st State or add it to Texas.

The only secure border President Fox is concerned about is that the illegals don’t return. What would they do if they rioted against him. So the illegal immigrants flooding America weakens us and strengthens Fox’s position though he lies about wanting a secure border. He barely maintains a secure government.

President Vicente Fox said Friday that Mexico is committed to more secure borders, citing his government’s fight against drug trafficking and a crackdown on migrant smugglers.

There are those who came here legally that I respect deeply. One such legal immigrant had this to say:

All of these organizations and politicians do not speak for me. I love America, wave my American flag, pray for America, and oppose any amnesty to illegal immigrants who came to this country violating our immigration laws. I support the building of a wall in the border of Mexico and the United States. I believe that those who wave the Mexican flag should go back to Mexico and live in that corrupted country.

I believe that those protesters ??? who were a combination of anti-American groups and resentful illegal Mexicans ??? should go to Mexico and protest before Vicente Fox and demand from him and his government jobs and social justice. Finally, I believe that all illegal Mexicans in this country should unite, march and chant: “Thank you America, Thank you America, I love you America, I love you America.”

Despite such law abiding people in this nation there is a growing desire to flaunt the Mexican flag over America. At one school students lowered the American flag and raised the Mexican flag. Others eventually took it down and promptly burned it. Watch for the Kennedy’s to create anti-flag burning legislation for burning the Mexican flag because it is a hate crime committed by racists. Such strong talk for those that find joy in seeing the American flag burned.

On radio voice called for Americans to burn the Mexican flag. There was a point that I would never have done that. But it would be interesting to see how the liberals reacted. If burning flags is (in their words) an expression of free speech, then Americans could exercise that right. Unless they want to use that as their new flag for the created State of Mexico. If you are interested in which other flag is behind these protests, go to Michelle Malkins site here to see the pictures. You won’t be surprised unless you are a liberal fear being exposed.

Michael Savage repeatedly called on his listeners to “burn the Mexican flag” in opposition to illegal immigrants. Savage claimed that the only way to combat the onslaught of illegal immigrants is through protest and asked his audience to “[b]urn a Mexican flag for America, burn a Mexican flag for those who died that you should have a nationality and a sovereignty, go out in the street and show you’re a man, burn 10 Mexican flags, if I could recommend it. Put one in the window upside down and tell them to go back where they came from!”

One last thought. Should we just annex down to the canal so we have narrow water border? Just a thought. Eminent Domain rights over another nation. Interesting, since some officials don’t respect private property rights it wouldn’t be a big leap.

Actually, the annexation proposal is not a bad idea — except of two problems.

    1) Mexico is such a large country with a large population that you would get into a seriou representation issue if you made it only one state. The natural solution would be to make it 20-some states, like it is organized now. But could you imagine the impact on the balance of power in this country — increasing the US population by 50% — all of them ethnic minorities from areas that would objectively be considered impoverished?

    2) What do we do about the linguistic issues? Do we necessarily become a bilingual nation at that point?

And then ther eis the issue of increasing the size of the House of Representatives — lest the average congressman find himself representing 1.5 million constituents and every current state losing 1/3-1/2 of its Congresscritters.
