Well, at least in the world of Katharine Jefferts Schori it is. The Episcopal church taken the leap from mild acceptance to total embracing of homosexuality as the new virtue.

Interviewed on CNN, Jefferts Schori was asked if it was a sin to be homosexual.

“I don’t believe so. I believe that God creates us with different gifts. Each one of us comes into this world with a different collection of things that challenge us and things that give us joy and allow us to bless the world around us,” she said.

“Some people come into this world with affections ordered toward other people of the same gender and some people come into this world with affections directed at people of the other gender.”

Outside the Beltway says he has no theological dog in the fight but offers this comment.

I???ve got no theological dog in this fight but find it rather amusing. It???s rather clear that the few biblical references to homosexual relations consider it a sin but it???s far from clear that it???s any more of a sin than, say, lustful thoughts.

One one level it is accurate. Really, what difference does it make what a person embraces that separates them from God? But on a different level you have yet to see a major ‘denomination’ come out in support (and actually embrace) other sins… Say they also came out saying that Adultery was a gift of God… or that Pedophilia was a gift from God. How about lying is a gift of God. PoliBlog isn’t surprised at the results but thought she might have let her election turmoil die down before espousing the new lib doctrine.

Homosexuality is the one unique sin that seems proud to wear a bad saying “Homosexuality is a Goft of God.” Finally at least we can recognize the entire Episcopal church has gone Apostate. The might now be listed with any other religion as being hallow and empty. Will the church diminish and die or will it thrive under the new code of diversity?

Independent Conservative has an article called the New Wave Church Has No Such Thing as Sin and there are no Men.

[...] Episcopals have now labeled same sex relationships as a gift of God. This stance has strained the ‘world wide Anglican brotherhood’. But it seems as if the rift has been wider than previously admitted to by the other Anglicans. Fresh divisions arise as a leading Church of England clergyman tied the knot with a long time lover. He and the Rev Grant Hollings, 52, a hospital chaplain in Kingston, Surrey, took part in a low-key ceremony at a registry office last week. They have been together for 30 years. [...]
